Minimum Requirements

  1. The applicant must be at least 14 years of age.

  2. The applicant must maintain a "C" (2.0 GPA) average in school.

  3. After acceptance, members of good standing may remain in the program until the age of 21.

  4. Applicants may be subject to a criminal background check by an advisor (police officer).

General Information

The Hoover Police Explorer Post #33 is a division of the Boy Scouts of America and sponsored by the Hoover Police Department. This program allows young men and women ages 14 to 21 who have an interest in law enforcement to get an inside view of the day-to-day duties of a municipal police officer. Explorers learn teamwork and discipline while building skills that will be of great value if the Explorer follows a career in law enforcement.
